There are different types of Brain Tumors and are classified according to the site of incidence in the Brain. Impaired or diminished Eye vision, constant headache, seizures, vomiting etc. are the common symptoms of Brain Tumor patients. Surgical intervention followed by Chemotherapy and Radiation therapy are the usual control measures in modern medicine. But these therapies do not guarantee effective cure mainly from complete or partial loss of eye vision, Hemiplegia, seizures and other associated complaints. In order words, reversal of the above symptoms to normalcy is highly impossible.
In the present paper, a case of Choroid Plexus Carcinoma is presented. Choroid plexus is a ventricular tangled mass of tiny blood vessels. Here, the choroids plexus of the right fronto-parietal region of the Cerebrum was affected.
Table 1 gives an account of the patient and symptoms before and after surgery. The surgical excision and biopsy testing were done at Calicut Medical College in Dec. 2003. The CT scan report revealed that there was a well defined right isodense mass lesion of 5.5 x 4 cms size with Cerebral Oedema and mass effect. The central sulci appeared effaced with shift of midline towards left side.
The patient, when admitted at AAMRC in Dec. '03, was at the terminal stage of the disease (Table 1). He was even unable to move around, because of seizures and blindness. Also he had severe headache, occasional vomiting, anorexia, increased Diabetes Mellitus, insomnia, reddish eyes with tears and facial oedema.
The patient was treated conservatively (fig.1). Virechanam was done for complete evacuation of stool. While treatment, strict dietary regulations were observed. Non-vegetarian food, milk and milk products, food that create gas and acidity were avoided. Induppu (Sodium chloride impure) along with common salt were used in the diet. SJ - 29 drop concentrate in antacid, Vardhasavam + T. Kaisoragulgulu, Cap. Neerjet, Gaytarine, Nidhrasavam, Parpadakarishtom + sudarsanam, Parpalarishom + Cap. Kamilari, Sivagulika in barley water, Thikathakagritham + Sankbhasmam, Sukumaram kashayam + Chandanasavam + Aswagandharishtom + Chandraprabha and Kudajarishtom + Avipathichoornam were used regularly. Spl. Oint. + Ksheerabala 101 was used for ecternal application. The reasons for the use of above medicine were explained in my earlier talks and hence it is not repeated here. The pain and oedema were not controlled effectively with the above medicines. When the swarasa preparation of Muyal cheviyan in Ksheerabala was applied the pain and swellings of the skull and face were controlled quickly. Research on this swarasa is required to develop medicine for pain and swellings in patient suffering from brain tumor.
Muyal cheviyan is an annual plant and traditionally its swarasa are used for the cure of Tonsillitis, and many infections of throat. The potentials of this plant need to be explored and applied in Cancer patients.
The reasons behind the use of biochip treatment and external applications of lepam followed by hot water bath were explained in the earlier talks.
The patient when discharged on 5th Jan '04 said "I have my second life from AAMRC" He could start moving, walking, and doing all his routine affairs without anybody's assistance. However, the reddishness of the eyes were not completely cleared. Application of Panineerkuzhambu, breast milk and washing with rose water helped to discharge yellowish particles from the eye daily. Gradually the eye became normal in three months. In May '04 the Diabetes Mellitus values went up immediately to 360 mg/dl. This caused inflammation of eyes and more yellow discharge came out with breast milk and Panineerkuzhambu application. This indicated that there was an infection triggered by Diabetes Mellitus. The maladhosham (yellow discharge) formed was driven out daily with breast milk, Panineerkuzhambu and Rose water. The increased Diabetes Mellitus was controlled with increased dozes of Premahaushadhi, Kerala and diabeterol.
By the end of May '04 the patient normal and cheerful and without any of the earlier symptoms of the disease. It was then advised to resume his duties as tailor in June '04.
This means that eyes are the most important sense organ on the human body. All human activities are affected when the damage is inflicted in eyes by diseases, injury and trauma. In the presented case the choroid plexus was affected with a tumor. Kapha was the main humour affected followed by Pitta which made the eyes reddish with itching sensations. Diabetes mellitus is Pitta associated and its increase during summer adversely when breast milk was applied. It is to be noticed that the patient was allergic to dust causing Sinusitis, Rhinitis since many years. This chronic disease might have affected the front of pariental aspect to form the Carcinoma. Human body is a powerful machine to produce maladhoshas but unable to drive out from the system efficiently. Now, this has to be worked out with the help of suitable medicine. The treatment protocol used in the present case has really worked out in driving out maladhoshas effectively and attaining vision to the impaired eye.
